Arrested the subject who installed malware to steal accounts and defrauded many people in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Nguyen Van Huy embedded malware into a game show link and offered many attractive prizes to "entice" players. Through that, the subject stole the personal information of the victims and then committed fraud, appropriating hundreds of millions of dong.
On March 25, Dien Chau District Police said that the unit had just successfully broken up a case, arresting Nguyen Van Huy (born 2000), residing in Ai Tu town, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province, for the act of "Fraud"."appropriation of property".
Searching the suspect's home, the police seized 1 desktop computer, 1 laptop, 3 mobile phones, 3 bank cards, 10 mobile phone SIM cards (junk SIM cards) and 17 million VND in cash.

During the investigation, Nguyen Van Huy initially confessed that since the beginning of 2021, he had created a link with the domain name: gameshowsieuthuthach.weebly.com and shared it on Facebook to call on people to participate with very attractive prizes, in order to attract viewers' attention. To participate, account owners must access the shared link and log in with their personal Facebook account information (username, password).
Because the link contains malicious code, when users log in, Nguyen Van Huy will steal account information to gain access. Then, the subject impersonates the account owner and sends messages to relatives and friends to ask them to transfer money to his account number.

With the above tricks, Nguyen Van Huy stole a lot of user account information and successfully carried out 07 fraud cases to appropriate property of 07 victims residing in Nghe An province, with a total amount of more than 120 million VND. The entire amount of money appropriated, the subject mainly used for personal spending purposes.
Currently, Dien Chau District Police are temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Huy to continue investigating and expanding the case.
