Arrest of mastermind, operator of online prostitution ring with 15,000 members
The subjects confessed to brokering prostitution through the Telegram application and had formed many groups and pages with about 15,000 members.
On January 19, Da Nang City Police announced that they had just dismantled an online prostitution brokerage ring.
Authorities arrested Nguyen Dang Khoa (35 years old, residing in Thach Thang ward, Hai Chau district, Da Nang) and Tran Quang Viet (31 years old, residing in Dak Doa town, Dak Doa district, Gia Lai province).

Specifically, Khoa was the mastermind, leader, and operator of the online prostitution ring through the Telegram application, while Viet played an effective supporting role.
The subjects created many pages and groups on the Telegram application to search for prostitutes, post pictures promoting prostitutes, interact with people who want to buy sex to carry out prostitution brokerage for illegal profit.
On the evening of January 18, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with other units to catch a couple red-handed in the act of prostitution at Y Hotel on Duong Dinh Nghe Street (An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City).
At the same time, urgently arrest and temporarily detain Nguyen Dang Khoa - the mastermind and ringleader, and Tran Quang Viet - the accomplice who assisted Khoa.
Seized evidence includes 2 mobile phones, about 200 pages of documents, and extracted electronic data related to prostitution brokerage activities...
At the investigation agency, the subjects confessed to having brokered prostitution through the Telegram application and had formed many groups and pages with about 15,000 members.
Prostitutes are managed by a number of individuals, with prices ranging from 500,000 VND to 5 million VND per session.
The subjects illegally profited by brokering prostitution by collecting money monthly or by turn. Prostitutes had to pay 20% of the amount each time. The total amount of illegal profits the subjects made from brokering prostitution amounted to hundreds of millions of dong.
