Suspect arrested for breaking into a house and stealing 400 million VND from a safe.
(Baonghean.vn) - Taking advantage of the homeowner's absence, Phan Van Phuong pried open the lock, broke into the house, and smashed open a safe, stealing 400 million VND and a mobile phone. He then quickly disposed of the stolen goods to avoid detection.
On March 30th, the Do Luong District Police announced that they are temporarily detaining Phan Van Phuong (born in 1988), residing in Dong Son commune (Do Luong district), for investigation into the crime of "theft".theft of property".
Earlier, at around 12 PM on March 18, 2021, Ms. Dang Thi X. (born in 1967), residing in Hamlet 6, Trang Son (Do Luong), reported a theft to the police. According to her report, at approximately 9 AM that same day, her family was burglarized, with thieves breaking open a safe and stealing 400 million VND in cash and a mobile phone worth approximately 7 million VND.

Immediately after receiving the report of the incident, the Do Luong District Police, in coordination with the Trang Son Commune Police, quickly deployed professional measures, tracing the clues left at the scene and identifying suspected individuals.
After a three-hour investigation, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Do Luong District Police arrested Phan Van Phuong (born in 1988), residing in Hamlet 5, Dong Son Commune (Do Luong District), for the crime of "theft of property".
At the police station, the suspect confessed to all of his crimes. According to his confession, taking advantage of the fact that Ms. X's family was away, he broke into the house and used a hammer to break open the safe and steal valuables.
To avoid detection, the suspect disposed of the stolen goods in various locations. Investigators seized 350 million VND in cash and one mobile phone (which was the stolen item).
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Do Luong District Police is holding Phan Van Phuong in custody for further investigation and to recover the remaining 50 million VND.
