Arrested subject using fake documents to defraud 88 billion VND

On November 13, the Investigation Police Agency (Ho Chi Minh City Police) announced that it had initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused and issued an arrest warrant for Ms. Vo Thi Ha (47 years old, residing in Thu Duc City) for the crimes of "Using fake documents of agencies and organizations" and "Fraudulent appropriation of property”.

The above decisions and orders have been approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.

Previously, the Office of the Criminal Police Department (PC01) - Ho Chi Minh City Police received a petition from Ms. HTH (73 years old, residing in District 3) accusing Ms. Vo Thi Ha of fraud and property appropriation.

Through investigation, it was determined that Ms. H. had known Ms. Vo Thi Ha since July 2018.

Ms. Ha promised to help Ms. H. complete the procedures to apply for a certificate of ownership for the land and house. Ms. Ha requested and urged Ms. H. to give her money to change the land use purpose to urban residential land. Ms. H. trusted her and gave her money many times, totaling more than 88 billion VND.

However, after receiving the money, Ms. Ha gave many reasons to explain that the work did not progress and that the agreement was not fulfilled. When Ms. H. asked for the money back, Ms. Ha did not return it and tried to avoid it. Therefore, Ms. H. filed the above complaint.

The investigation also clarified that in order to create trust and appropriate money from Ms. H, Ms. Ha sent the victim some fake documents.

Searching the residence of the defendant Ha, the police seized many objects and documents related to the case. Among them, there were fake documents related to real estate such as: Tax payment notice, money payment receipt to the State budget, minutes of judgment execution settlement...

The Investigation Police Agency (Ho Chi Minh City Police) continues to consolidate evidence and expand the investigation of the case.
