Arrested subject setting up camp, equipped with firearms to traffic drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - A group of drug traffickers led by Tho Va Phia (from Tuong Duong, Nghe An) used homemade guns to fight back against the arresting force, injuring a police officer.
At around 11:00 a.m. on August 6, 2020, Ky Son District Police successfully broke a major drug case, arresting Tho Va Phia, born in 1970, residing in Luu Thong village, Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong, Nghe An, currently living in Xieng Khouang province, Laos.
The seized exhibits included 100 grams of heroin and nearly 1,000 synthetic drug pills, 1 small scale, 1 phone, 1 homemade pistol, 3 bullets, 1 loaded bullet, and 1 homemade flintlock gun.

Previously, from the beginning of June 2020, through the work of grasping the situation, the police of Ky Son district discovered that Tho Va Phia had signs of suspected drug trafficking from Laos to Ky Son district. A special investigation was quickly established.
After a period of monitoring the subject's movements, on August 6, receiving information that the subject would store a large amount of "goods" in a shack he had built in the forest in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the task force decided to crack the case.
Recognizing that this was a dangerous subject, the Task Force carefully prepared plans, wearing bulletproof vests, equipped with guns and protective equipment, and sent scouts to "set up positions" at key points, tightly surrounding the area where the subject lived. At around 11:00 a.m. on August 6, in the forest of Nam Can commune, the working group of Ky Son district police caught the subject and the evidence red-handed.

During the arrest, the district police detectives encountered fierce resistance. The person who was on guard duty for Tho Va Phia opened fire on the police and escaped. As for Tho Va Phia, during the struggle, a police sergeant was injured in the leg.

At the investigation agency, the subject initially confessed to buying drugs from an unknown person in Laos to bring back to Nghe An to sell for profit. While transporting the drugs to store, the district police detectives raided and caught him red-handed with the evidence.
Currently, the case is being expanded for investigation.
