(Baonghean.vn) - The Cua Lo Town Police announced that they have cracked a case and arrested Vo Duc Kieu (born in 1985), residing in Nghi Tan Ward, Cua Lo Town, for the illegal trade of prohibited goods (fireworks). The seized evidence included 48 kg of fireworks.

In response to this situation, the Cua Lo Town Police established a special task force to combat the crime. During the investigation, the task force discovered that Vo Duc Kieu (born in 1985), residing in Nghi Tan Ward, Cua Lo Town, frequently contacted and met with several individuals outside the area to discuss the buying and selling of firecrackers.

At 8 PM on July 26, 2022, investigators spotted Kieu driving a motorcycle from Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc district) across the Nghi Quang commune bridge (Nghi Loc district) towards Cua Lo town; the motorcycle was carrying a styrofoam box on the back and a sack containing snake carcasses in front. When the suspect reached the area of ​​the bridge in Block 5, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town, recognizing that the time was ripe to crack the case, the special task force apprehended the suspect red-handed for the act of trading prohibited goods (fireworks).

At the scene, the police seized evidence including: 01 cardboard box containing 24 firework mortars of 36 firecrackers each, and 01 sack containing 656 firecrackers, with a total weight of 48kg. At the police station, Kieu confessed to the crime.

Currently, the Cua Lo town police are continuing their investigation and expanding the scope of the case.
