Upon receiving the report, the Thanh Chuong District Police promptly coordinated with the professional departments of the Provincial Police to conduct an investigation and identified the perpetrator as Nguyen Van Thi (born in 1979, residing in Hamlet 5, Ngoc Son Commune, Thanh Chuong District).

Through persuasion efforts, at approximately 8 PM on the same day, Nguyen Van Thi surrendered to the Thanh Chuong District Police and confessed that on the night of July 3, 2013, he entered Mrs. Huy's house and struck her on the head with a stick, causing her death, and then stole a pair of gold earrings. Currently, the Thanh Chuong District Police have detained Thi for investigation and processing.
