Suspect arrested for raping and robbing a 14-year-old girl.

On March 20th, information from the Criminal Investigation Agency of Tan Tru District Police, Long An Province, indicated that they had just arrested and detained the suspect.rapeHe robbed a 14-year-old girl in the area.

Specifically, two days ago (March 18th), the investigative police received a report from Mr. NVP, residing in Tan Binh commune, regarding his 14-year-old daughter being assaulted by an unknown male suspect who used force, choked her until she fainted, raped her, and stole her belongings, including a motorbike and two mobile phones.

Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Tan Tru District Police and the People's Procuracy of the same level examined the scene and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Long An Province to track down the suspect.

At approximately 2:45 PM on March 19th, police forces discovered the suspected individual hiding in a game arcade on National Highway 1, Ward 2, Tan An City, and apprehended him.

At the police station, the suspect identified himself as Thach Ngoc Bao (19 years old, from Soc Trang province) and admitted to being homeless. A search of Bao's person yielded a jacket, the victim's citizen identification card, and 428,000 VND.

The suspect, Bao, confessed that he had previously befriended the victim on Facebook and invited her to his house. Around 12 PM on March 18th, they met, and Bao demanded sexual intercourse, but she resisted, so he used force to rape her and steal her belongings.

Afterward, the suspect sold the victim's belongings for nearly 1.5 million VND and went to play games, where he was arrested by the police.

According to initial investigations, in 2022, the suspect Bao was sentenced to 9 months in prison by the People's Court of Tam Binh District, Vinh Long Province, for theft, and was released from prison on June 22, 2023.
