Arrest of dangerous criminal who used gun to rob taxi driver

(Baonghean.vn) - The Criminal Police Department (PC 45 - Provincial Police) announced that it has just decided to prosecute Tran Anh Tuan (aka "Tuan Thuy" - 44 years old, residing in block 6, Doi Cung ward, Vinh city) for robbery.

"Tuan Thuy" is a dangerous criminal, with a previous conviction for intentional injury and many previous convictions. In the underworld of Vinh City, "Tuan Thuy" is known as a "numbered" subject, specializing in debt collection, protection, and is also a drug addict.

Through the process of monitoring and investigation, the police determined that on February 18, Tran Anh Tuan committed a robbery of Phan Dinh Hung, a taxi driver, for 7 million VND.

Previously in July 2016, Tran Anh Tuan's car crashed into a wall and was damaged after avoiding a taxi driven by Hung. Hung later repaired Tuan's car.

On February 18, Tuan asked for Hung's phone number and called to go to Phuong Huy 2 hotel to pick up passengers.

When he saw Mr. Hung's car coming, Tuan hit Mr. Hung's hand with a stick and forced him to take him to Tuan's house in block 6, Doi Cung ward (Vinh city).

Here, Tuan slapped Hung in the face, used scissors to stab Hung's hand and forced Hung to write a paper to pay Tuan 10 million VND for car repairs.

Fearing for his life, Hung called his family to give 7 million VND to Tuan. After receiving the money, Tuan released Hung to borrow more money to pay the full 10 million.

On February 20, the police executed an arrest warrant and urgently searched Tran Anh Tuan for robbery. Searching his house, the police seized 2 guns, including a homemade gun and a stun gun, along with 71 bullets, 3 knives, 1 stick and 1 set of crystal meth.

On February 28, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency decided to prosecute Tran Anh Tuan for robbery.
