Arrested a subject transporting nearly 300 kg of crystal meth across the border
In addition to one foreign suspect being held, authorities are sending more forces into the forest to arrest many others.
On February 17, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Tien Nghi, Commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard, said that at 1 a.m., the unit coordinated with many interdisciplinary forces to arrest Vangchueyang Briachear (25 years old, Lao nationality) while crossing the forest to transport crystal meth on the side of National Highway 8A, Ha Trai village (Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district).

At the scene, authorities seized 12 blue sacks containing 278 packages of crystal meth wrapped in nylon, weighing a total of 294 kg, along with a number of related exhibits.
"Initial determination has determined that there is another person involved in transporting the drugs. Many forces are being sent into the forest to surround and capture them," said the leader of the Ha Tinh Border Guard.

The suspect said he entered Vietnam on February 16 and rented a motel in Tay Son town (Huong Son) to wait to receive the goods. At 1 a.m. the next morning, when he arrived at the agreed delivery location, he was arrested by the authorities.
According to the scouts, because it was night and the terrain was rugged, a suspect ran into the forest to escape.Previously, on the afternoon of February 15, in Huong Son district (Ha Tinh), the Drug Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and Ha Tinh police chased and arrested 3 people who fled and barricaded themselves in a car for many hours, seizing 9 kg of crystal meth, 2,000 synthetic drug pills, guns, grenades and knives.
