Restaurant owner Tran Van Dung said that at around 11pm on November 7, he heard a loud noise in a pond about 100 square meters wide. Suspecting there was a big fish, Mr. Dung sent two employees down to catch it.
"When we got there, we felt a big, round object like a thigh. We thought it was a piece of wood so we carried it and threw it somewhere else. The fish then struggled in his hand and jumped back into the water.", employee named Hoa said.

The two young men then drained the pond and used headlights to locate the snakehead fish. "We had to use a net to catch the fish and carry it to shore together because it was very strong," Hoa added.
Mr. Dung did not butcher the snakehead fish but instead put it in a glass tank to continue raising it for people to see. "This is the first time I have seen such a big snakehead fish in my pond. This is a stagnant pond so it may have lived for a long time," Mr. Dung said.
Snakehead fish, also known as snakehead fish, live in freshwater environments, in the middle and low water layers, often found in ponds with lots of grass and muddy water. The largest fish can be up to one meter long and weigh up to 20 kg; a one-year-old fish weighs 760 grams; a two-year-old fish weighs about 1,395 grams.
