Four tattooed young men arrested for loan sharking

Through the work of grasping the situation in the area, Ha Dong District Police discovered that a group of people renting a room in Phu La Ward had signs of financial business activities in the form of "eight-family" lottery with high interest rates. The leader of the group was Nguyen Duy Thu.
On April 8, Ha Dong District Police detained Nguyen Duy Thu, Nguyen Huy Nghia, To Quyet Cong, and Nguyen Tran Thuyet. The subjects confessed that from October 2020 until now, they have lent many people about 6 billion VND at high interest rates in the form of "bat ho" lottery.
Loans range from 15 million VND to 100 million VND and when lending, interest will be cut from 3 million VND or more for 1 "bowl", equivalent to interest rates from 183% to 228%/year. Borrowers must pay Thu both principal and interest within 30 - 40 days, otherwise "strong measures" will be applied.
Thu sent his juniors to collect debts from customers with a salary of 5 million VND/month. Currently, Ha Dong District Police are consolidating the files and handling the subjects according to regulations.
