Preschool owner arrested for threatening and beating children with a knife

The owner of Mam Xanh kindergarten was accused of torturing others - by threatening and beating many children with a knife and a spoon...

On the morning of November 28, the leader of District 12 Police (HCMC) announced that they had prosecuted and detained Pham Thi My Linh (43 years old, owner of Mam Xanh kindergarten) to investigate the act of torturing others.

This woman admitted to using a knife to threaten and beat many children aged 2-5 with plastic bottles and spoons... As for the two nannies Quynh and Dao, they do not have specific addresses so the police will summon them later.

The police also worked with eight families whose children had been abused. They were very upset and demanded that the nannies who brutally beat their children be severely punished.

"The case has enough signs of criminal behavior of Torturing others," said the leader of District 12 Police about the prosecution and arrest of Ms. Linh under Clause 2, Article 110 of the 1999 Penal Code.

According to the investigation, Linh is from Lam Dong, graduated from preschool college, opened Mam Xanh facility in September 2014. This place takes care of about 30 children from 2 to 5 years old, children of workers in the area, costing 1.2 million VND per month. The two nannies working in this facility have no qualifications or expertise.

Every morning when the children entered the classroom, Ms. Linh and the nannies were all smiling and welcoming. But as soon as the parents left, or during meals, they would brutally beat the children. Many children were slapped repeatedly in the face, beaten with soup spoons, and had oil bottles smashed on their heads... until they were dizzy. During bedtime, a boy was thrown into a corner and kicked in the stomach by the nanny.

When the incident was discovered, many parents quit their jobs and went to Mam Xanh facility to demand Ms. Linh to come out and talk to her about "right and wrong". The authorities had to take turns maintaining security and order.
