Arrested 1,688 subjects for serious crimes

(Baonghean.vn)- On October 15, Nghe An Police held a conference to summarize the special emulation movement and activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the tradition of the Vietnam People's Police; 10 years of the National Day for National Security Protection.

Attending the conference were comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors, leaders of police in districts and cities and outstanding collectives and individuals in the emulation period.

In the special emulation movement, Nghe An Police has well implemented projects and specialized work plans, maintained security on key routes, fields and areas, especially border security, mountainous areas and ethnic groups; effectively fought and prevented all types of crimes; proactively deployed 6 peak periods of crime suppression, discovered many major criminal, economic and drug cases, arrested many dangerous ringleaders, prevented the formation of organized crimes and "gangster"-style activities.

In the past time, the Provincial Police have investigated and clarified 801/972 cases, arrested 1,688 criminals, seized money and assets worth a total of about 10.9 billion VND; arrested 829 cases; 1,029 drug criminals, seized nearly 16 kg of heroin, 10.908 kg of crystal meth; discovered and prosecuted 3 cases, 6 subjects with corruption; 1,152 subjects committed crimes and violated economic laws; State management of security and order has been strengthened, the movement of the whole people to protect national security has been focused on...

The provincial police have organized many effective activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 10th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 14 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the special emulation movement. The Provincial Police also awarded prizes to outstanding collectives and individuals./.
