Arrested 2 subjects buying, selling and transporting drugs and opium poppies

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 8, the Traffic Police Department of Ky Son Police discovered and caught a subject red-handed illegally buying and selling drugs. Previously, a subject transporting opium plants including flowers and fruits from Laos to Vietnam for consumption was also arrested by Ky Son Police.

Accordingly, at 11:30 a.m., the traffic police patrol team of Ky Son District Police was performing patrol and control duties on National Highway 7A, the section passing through Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu commune, when they discovered Len Van Dan, born in 1964, residing in Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son, buying, selling and exchanging drugs with a group of addicts right next to National Highway 7.

The task force immediately proceeded to arrest and inspect the subject. Through inspection, the task force seized 56 small white packages and 2 small white blocks weighing 2.9 grams, suspected to be heroin, from Dan.

The working group made a record, brought the evidence and suspect Dan to the Ky Son district police headquarters for questioning.

At the police investigation agency, Len Van Dan confessed that all of the above evidence was drugs, which he bought and sold to addicts in the village for profit.

It is known that the subject Len Van Dan was just released from prison in 2016. Before that, this subject was arrested for the same crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".

Previously, at 10:10 a.m. on January 7, a patrol team of the Ky Son Police Mobile Traffic Police, while performing an administrative inspection on National Highway 7A, discovered a car with license plate 37A - 357-16, driven by Cao Ngoc Trong, born in 1967, residing in Lang Nhung, Tam Quang Commune, Tuong Duong District.

Upon inspection, the working group discovered a cardboard box containing 16 kg of opium plants and fruits; the group drew up a record of the confiscation of the evidence and brought the subject and the suspect back to the headquarters for questioning.

The weight of the opium poppy transported by Cao Ngoc Trong was 2 kg. Trong confessed that he bought all the opium poppy plants and fruits from Laos for 410,000 VND to resell.
According to current law, the act of illegally storing, trading, or transporting "dried or fresh opium poppy fruit" or narcotics in the list of "narcotics and precursors" is a violation of the law and is subject to criminal prosecution./.
