​Arrest of 2 motorcyclists who caused an accident in a mountainous district of Nghe An and then fled

At around 8:30 a.m. on March 27, Mr. Vi Van On (born in 1986, residing in Quan village, Binh Chuan commune, Con Cuong district) was driving a motorbike with license plate 37C1 - 092.59 to the top of Pu Huot when he was hit head-on by someone going in the opposite direction, causing him to die on the spot.

The suspect fled the scene after causing the accident. After investigating and extracting roadside camera footage, Con Cuong District Police summoned Lo Van Tap (born in 1975, residing in Na Co village, Binh Chuan commune) for questioning. Tap confessed that he sat in the back seat that day, the driver was Kha Van Tinh (born in 1972, residing in Phuc village, Don Phuc commune).

Tap confessed that that day Tinh used a motorbike to take Tap up the Pu Huot slope. When the motorbike reached the slope, it met Vi Van On riding a motorbike in the opposite direction. At the same time, a truck also appeared on the road going in the same direction as On.

Because Mr. On overtook the car and crossed into Kha Van Tinh's path, Mr. On's motorbike hit the handlebars and pedals of Kha Van Tinh's motorbike, causing Mr. On to fall onto the road. Kha Van Tinh and Lo Van Tap saw this but did not stop the motorbike and continued to speed away.

After running a short distance, Tinh took off his shirt, threw it on the edge of the forest, and returned to the scene. Hearing the news of On's death, Tap panicked and ran into the forest. Tinh drove home, then sold the bike.

Before Tap’s testimony, Con Cuong District Police arrested Kha Van Tinh for investigation. Tinh confessed to driving a motorbike and hitting someone to death and then fleeing. Currently, Con Cuong District Police are completing the file to handle according to the law.
