Three railway officials arrested for cutting telecommunications cables.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of February 6th, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police (Nghe An province) announced that authorities had arrested three individuals for stealing telecommunications cables.
Recently, Quỳnh Lưu district has experienced a series of incidents involving the theft of telecommunication cables in the communes of Quỳnh Vinh, Quỳnh Xuân, Tân Sơn, Quỳnh Lộc, and Hoàng Mai town. In response, Colonel Phạm Văn Vĩnh – Head of the District Police – established and directed Special Case 213ĐT. Through investigation, surveillance, and intelligence gathering, on the evening of February 5th, at the Hoàng Mai train station, Quỳnh Lưu district police caught three suspects red-handed while they were stealing telecommunication cables: Nguyễn Văn Luận (born 1978, residing in Quỳnh Mỹ commune), Trương Văn Giáp (born 1974, residing in Quỳnh Lộc commune), and Bùi Văn Phúc (born 1970, residing in Quỳnh Yên commune).
All three arrested individuals are railway signal and communication officers at Cau Giat. They confessed to three thefts in Hoang Mai town and Quynh Vinh commune, involving 280 meters of communication cable. Police recovered 7.4 kg of copper, a knife, and a saw, which were the tools used in the crimes. The police are continuing their investigation to clarify the details of the case.
