Arrested 8 subjects, seized 57 heroin cakes, 30,000 synthetic drug pills

On the morning of March 11, Major General Nguyen Van Vien, Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Drug Crimes, said that at the end of 2020, through professional measures, the Department discovered a drug trafficking ring.illegal drug traffickingLarge quantities from Laos to Vietnam and then transported to Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Lang Son provinces and transported to third countries for consumption.

This line has many participants, residing in many different areas, many of whom have criminal records for drug and gambling crimes. They operate in a closed manner with many sophisticated, cunning and daring methods and tricks, each time transporting dozens of heroin cakes and tens of thousands of synthetic drug pills. The leader is Hoang Van Hiep (born in 1986), residing in Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province.

On January 23, in Go Pao village, Hop Thinh commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province, when discovering drug delivery subjects, the Task Force raided and caught red-handed two subjects Quach Xuan Tuan (born 1987) and Duong Tuan Viet (born 1995), both residing in Thai Nguyen province. Evidence seized included 6,000 synthetic drug pills and a car used as a means of transporting drugs.

Immediately after arresting the subject and collecting evidence of drugs, detectives simultaneously raided and arrested 6 other subjects related to the ring.

Specifically: In Dien Bien, Hoang Van Hiep, the leader and organizer of the drug trafficking and transportation ring, was arrested. In Hiep Hoa, Bac Giang, Nguyen Van Chinh (born in 1973) and his wife Ta Thi Tam (born in 1976) were arrested.

Confiscated from Chinh’s house were 10 heroin cakes, 20 certificates of land use rights, house ownership and property attached to land, along with many books and papers related to lending money. Chinh had a previous sentence of 20 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking and transportation, and had his sentence reduced and was released from prison in 2018.

In Thai Nguyen, the police urgently searched the car used by Quach Xuan Tuan, parked at a gas station in Thai Nguyen city, and discovered and seized 47 heroin cakes and 24,000 synthetic drug pills.

To date, the Investigation Committee has arrested 8 subjects, seized 57 heroin cakes, 30,000 synthetic drug pills and many other related assets and evidence.
