(Baonghean.vn) - When they discovered they were being surrounded and captured, the Vietnamese husband and Laotian wife fought back fiercely and ran up the dangerous mountainside in an attempt to escape.

Ky Son District Police, Nghe An Province, said they had just successfully dismantled a transnational drug trafficking ring, arresting two suspects and seizing three heroin bricks, five kilograms of crystal meth, and 6,000 synthetic drug pills.

Accordingly, at the end of 2018, through investigation, Ky Son District Police discovered a drug trafficking ring with large quantities transported from Laos to Vietnam for consumption. Project 419L was established.

Through investigation, the Special Task Force identified the main suspect in this ring as Lau Giong Long (born in 1972, residing in Huoi Thang village, Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district).

Being a subject with many sophisticated and cunning tricks, Long often changed the method and location of goods delivery to deceive the authorities. After consolidating documents and realizing the opportunity was ripe, the Task Force decided to crack the case.

On April 9, 2019, the Special Task Force coordinated with the Drug Control Team of Nghe An Provincial Customs Department to divide into working groups to monitor the movement of the subject. At 11:00 p.m. the same day, in the area of ​​​​Huoi Thang village, Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district, the working group discovered and caught Lau Giong Long and Ho Y Co (born in 1975, residing in Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son) in the act of illegally buying and selling drugs.

Discovering that they were being surrounded and captured, the two subjects fought back fiercely, running up the rugged hills in an attempt to escape. However, with a carefully prepared “battlefield”, the authorities captured the two subjects and took them to headquarters. Checking the bags of the subjects, they seized at the scene 2 heroin cakes and 6,000 synthetic drug pills.

Continuing to conduct an urgent search of the private home of the suspect Lau Giong Long, the working group discovered a black backpack containing 1 heroin cake and 5kg of crystal meth hidden in the bedroom. At the investigation agency, the subjects confessed to being married, the wife was Laotian, the subjects regularly bought drugs from Laos to bring to Vietnam for consumption. Currently, the investigation is expanding.
