Arresting drug traffickers who always have 'hot' weapons at the ready

On May 6, 2022, Ky Son District Police said they had successfully broken up a case of illegal drug trafficking in large quantities and successfully arrested a subject.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation in the area, Ky Son District Police discovered a subject with suspicious signs related to illegal drug trafficking activities.

During the verification, the police identified the suspect as Ly Ba Dong (born in 1984), residing in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district. Dong is a serious drug addict, with a previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking. To deal with the authorities, during the buying and selling process,drugDong always keeps a gun, knife and grenade with him for self-defense.

After many days of monitoring, understanding the subject's route, steps and patterns of activity, a very careful capture plan was carried out.

Accordingly, at around 3:00 p.m. on May 5, 2022, in the area of ​​Truong Son village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the Ky Son District Police Working Group co-chaired with Nam Can Commune Police, Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Nam Can International Border Gate Customs Sub-Department successfully broke up a drug trafficking case, successfully arrested Ly Ba Dong for the act of "Illegal drug trafficking".

The seized exhibits included 4,000 synthetic drug pills, 01 homemade gun, 02 grenades, 01 knife and many other related exhibits. The process of capturing the subject ensured absolute safety.

At the police station, Dong confessed that he bought the drugs across the border with the intention of both using them and reselling them for profit.

Currently, Ky Son District Police are consolidating records and completing legal procedures according to law.
