On January 27th, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police announced that the Central Traffic Control and Patrol Team, Quang Ninh Traffic Police Department, in coordination with Market Management Team No. 3, Quang Ninh Market Management Sub-department, had inspected and seized nearly 40,000 smuggled Chinese chicken eggs.
According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, at approximately 9:30 AM on January 26th, on National Highway 18 (in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province), the Central Traffic Control and Patrol Team and Market Management Team No. 3 inspected a truck driven by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tra (from Dam Ha, Quang Ninh).
During the inspection, the inter-agency task force discovered 99 cardboard boxes in Mr. Tra's truck containing nearly 40,000 smuggled Chinese chicken eggs.
Driver Tra confessed that he was the owner of the goods. Mr. Tra purchased the Chinese chicken eggs in the Mong Cai area and then transported them to Hai Phong for sale.
Mr. Pham Hong Son, Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 3, said that the smuggling of products of unknown origin will greatly affect domestic production and the health of the people. Mr. Son advised people to use safe products with clear origins and geographical indications to ensure their health.
The incident is being handled by the authorities in accordance with regulations.
