Seized more than 2.6 tons of dried bamboo shoots soaked in sulfur
(Baonghean.vn) - Through inspection, authorities discovered that Mr. Thai Ba Hao used sulfur as an additive in the process of drying bamboo shoots.
At 6:00 p.m. on August 24, 2016, Do Luong Police inspected the dried bamboo shoot processing facility of Mr. Thai Ba Hao's family (born in 1971), residing in Hamlet 7, Dong Son Commune, Do Luong District.

Through inspection, the police discovered that Mr. Thai Ba Hao's family had 2 bamboo shoot drying ovens, and underneath the oven were 7 bowls of yellow powder, which was sulfur used as an additive in the bamboo shoot drying process.
At the time of inspection, the facility could not present any documents for its production activities. The police agency drew up a record of the temporary seizure of more than 2.6 tons of dried bamboo shoots soaked in sulfur.

Mr. Hao confessed that the fresh bamboo shoots would be dried and then dried with sulfur powder to be sold to Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces. The bamboo shoot processing facility has been in operation since December 2015.
Currently, Do Luong Police are temporarily holding all evidence to continue investigating the case.
