Ahmad Khan Rahami is suspected of being involved in the explosions in both New York City and New Jersey. US authorities are looking into the possibility that there is a terrorist cell operating in New York and New Jersey. It is worth noting that he was arrested just hours after the FBI released his photo.
Rahami, 28, an Afghan-American, is wanted for questioning in connection with two bombings along the US Marine Corps charity run in Seaside Park, New Jersey, and a bombing in the Chelsea area of midtown Manhattan, New York that injured 29 people.

The explosion in New York occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on September 17 local time (7:30 a.m. on September 18 Hanoi time) in front of building 131, 23rd Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues, injuring at least 29 people, one of whom is in serious condition. Images from a security camera on the street showed the explosive device placed in a trash can. The explosion shook and shattered the windows of surrounding houses.
Police found a second explosive device not far from the scene of the explosion in the Chelsea area of midtown Manhattan. This device was homemade, made from a pressure cooker similar to the one used in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Police were able to neutralize the device.
Earlier that day, a bomb placed in a trash can exploded at Seaside Park, New Jersey, but fortunately no one was injured.
