Woman arrested for illegal drug trafficking.
The police in Yen Thanh district (Nghe An province) have successfully dismantled a drug trafficking ring, arresting one suspect and seizing a large quantity of drugs.
Through intelligence gathering, the Yen Thanh District Police discovered the network.illegal drug traffickingThe ring was led by Truong Thi Quyen (born in 1986), residing in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district (Nghe An province). According to the investigation, she purchased drugs from northern areas and sold them retail in Yen Thanh district and some other areas inside and outside the province.
In response to this situation, the district police developed a plan and organized multiple task forces in coordination with the Quy Hop district police to implement measures to apprehend the suspects. During the arrest process, the task force encountered many difficulties because the suspects frequently changed their movements and employed many sophisticated tactics to evade law enforcement.
Following the coordinated implementation of operational measures and a determination to keep the area clean, on the afternoon of October 27, 2024, the task force of the Yen Thanh District Police, in coordination with other units, successfully apprehended the suspect in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district. The seized items included 5,300 synthetic drug pills; 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of heroin, one car, and one mobile phone.
At the investigative agency, Truong Thi Quyen confessed to her crime. Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department of Yen Thanh District Police is continuing to expand the investigation.
