Arrest of 3.5 cubic meters of illegal timber transported floating on the river

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 29, the Waterway Police Department announced that the unit had just arrested a case of illegal timber transportation by waterway in the area.

Previously, on September 27, the working group of the Crime Prevention Team, Waterway Police Department discovered a raft carrying wood going downstream from upstream to downstream of Hieu River in Bai Ke hamlet, Dong Hop commune (Quy Hop).

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered 35 round logs (group VI to group VIII) with a volume of 3.5 m3 on the raft. The wood belonged to Mr. Le Dinh Thanh (born in 1968, residing in Quynh Tam commune, Quynh Luu, Nghe An).

At the time of inspection, Mr. Thanh could not present relevant documents on the origin of the above wood.

The working group has drawn up a record and handed it over to Mobile Ranger Team No. 3 for handling in accordance with the law.
