Authorities seize vehicle transporting smuggled goods.
(Baonghean)At 11:00 AM on June 22nd, while on patrol duty at Km 708 of the Ho Chi Minh Highway in Khai Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province, based on information provided by the public, a task force from Traffic Police Team No. 3, Nghe An Provincial Traffic Police Department, inspected and apprehended a passenger bus traveling from South to North transporting smuggled goods.
The car with license plate 53N-3907 was driven by Truong Tan Duc (born in 1961 - residing at Group 22, Area 4, Le Hong Phong Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province).
During the inspection, authorities discovered 683 plastic water guns of various types and battery-operated guns, and 2,500 packs of foreign-made 555 brand cigarettes without proper documentation. Upon questioning, the driver confessed that the 683 water guns belonged to Duc and were being transported for sale, while the 2,500 packs of foreign cigarettes belonged to Dang Thi Kim Thu (born 1955, residing at Group 40, Area 8, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province), who had hired Duc to transport them.
Currently, the task force has completed the paperwork and transferred the suspect and evidence to the Anh Son District Police for further investigation.
