On the afternoon of April 15, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Binh, Chief of Staff of Dak Lak Provincial Police, said that the Criminal Police Department had just arrested two suspects related to the death of Vo Thanh Tung (36 years old, permanent residence in Nghia Hoa commune, Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai province) at TV Motel (Group 9, Kien Duc town, Dak R'lap district) on the afternoon of April 12.
Accordingly, the two suspects arrested were: Le Mai Lam (18 years old) and Le Chien Thang (16 years old, both residing in village 1, Dak Wer commune, Dak R'lap district).

On the afternoon of April 12, both received a phone call from Mr. Tung inviting them to go to the TV Motel. There, Lam and Thang killed Mr. Tung and then used rope to tie up the victim's hands and feet.
Before leaving, the two men took a gold ring, a cell phone, a watch and a leather wallet containing more than 2 million VND from Mr. Tung. Then they got off the bus and went to Ho Chi Minh City to hide.
After more than 2 days, at around 0:30 a.m. on April 15, both were discovered and arrested by the Dak Nong Provincial Police reconnaissance force while hiding at an acquaintance's house in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City.
“Currently, the two suspects have admitted their crimes. The investigation force is consolidating the case file, taking statements to prosecute the suspects for the crimes of “Murder” and “Robbery”, added Lieutenant Colonel Binh.
Previously, at around 2:30 p.m. on April 12, a young man (identity unknown) walked to TV Motel (Group 9, Kien Duc Town, Dak R'lap District) to rent a room. Because this young man often came to rent rooms, the motel owner did not check his identification.
About 10 minutes after this young man checked in, Mr. Tung came by motorbike and stayed in the same room with this young man. About 15 minutes later, another young man (also unknown) came by motorbike and stayed in the same room with Mr. Tung.
However, less than 10 minutes after this young man arrived, both strange young men hurriedly left. Mr. Tung remained in the room.
Seeing the two young men leave in a hurry, the motel owner became suspicious and ran into the room to check and discovered Mr. Tung dead on the bed with his hands and feet tied. The motel owner later reported the incident to the police.
The cause of the incident is currently being investigated by Dak Nong Provincial Police.
