Arrested the perpetrator after more than 3 hours on the run

(Baonghean.vn) - More than 3 hours after swinging a knife and killing one person, the suspect (24 years old) was arrested by Cua Lo town police.

On the afternoon of March 21, Cua Lo Town Police said they had handed over Chu Dinh Duong (born in 1993, residing in Block 1, Nghi Tan Ward, Cua Lo Town) and the case file to the Provincial Police Department's PC45 Department for further handling according to their authority.

According to Cua Lo Town Police, at around 11:20 p.m. on March 17, Cua Lo Town Police received a report of an intentional injury incident occurring in front of Golden Sea Bar in Block 3, Nghi Huong Ward, Cua Lo Town. The seriously injured victim, Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1985, residing in Block 6, Nghi Tan Ward, Cua Lo Town), was taken to the provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. By 2 a.m. on March 18, the victim Hung had died. The perpetrator had fled.

Immediately after receiving the report, Cua Lo Town Police urgently conducted simultaneous investigation measures and reported to Nghe An Provincial Police and PC45 Department for direction.

Just over 3 hours after the incident occurred, at 3:00 a.m. on March 18, the town police identified and urgently arrested Chu Dinh Duong (born in 1993, residing in block 1, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town) while he was hiding in the area.

At the investigation agency, Chu Dinh Duong initially confessed that on the evening of March 17, Duong went with Le Hong Trung (born in 1984, residing in block 2, Nghi Tan ward) and 5 friends to a bar in Nghi Huong ward to hang out. At around 11pm, the group paid the bill and left. Trung questioned and argued with the bar staff about the miscalculation.

At that time, Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1985, block 6, Nghi Tan ward), a customer at the bar, cursed Duong and kicked him. Hung followed Duong and said, "What do you want?" Trung told Duong, "Go ahead. I'll take care of it."

Hearing Trung speak, Duong took out a switchblade he had on him and stabbed Hung once in the left side of his abdomen. After committing the crime, Duong put the knife away and fled the scene.

The investigation agency also said that Chu Dinh Duong has no criminal record.
