Man high on drugs arrested for murdering his 17-month-old nephew.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 24th, Lieutenant Colonel To Van Hau - Head of Ky Son District Police, announced that Xeo Van Nhi (born in 1996), residing in Na Loi commune, Ky Son district, is currently being held in custody on charges of murder.
According to the investigating agency, Xeo Van Nhi is unmarried and the youngest child in his family. Nhi lives with his older brother, Xeo Van Loi, and his wife, Cut Thi Nguyet, in Na Loi commune, Ky Son district.

At 11 PM on November 20, 2015, Xeo Van Nhi was watching TV when his nephew, Xeo Van Khinh (17 months old), the eldest son of his older brother and sister-in-law, woke up and started crying. Ms. Nguyet tried to comfort him, but he wouldn't stop crying.
Xeo Van Nhi approached, snatched the baby from Ms. Nguyet's arms, and said, "Please go outside, I have something to say to the child." Mr. Loi and Ms. Nguyet, hearing Nhi's words, left the house. At this point, Xeo Van Nhi locked the door from the inside, slammed the baby against a pillar, and, seeing the baby motionless, dropped the child to the floor. Ms. Nguyet and her husband broke down the door and rushed in, but Xeo Van Nhi ran out and fled. The baby subsequently died on the spot.
Lieutenant Colonel To Van Hau stated: Upon receiving the report, the unit formed a team to reach the scene, but due to the treacherous terrain, rain, and muddy roads, it took nearly two hours to arrive. The police conducted an investigation and identified Xeo Van Nhi as the perpetrator, so they focused on apprehending him.
At 2 PM on November 21st, Xeo Van Nhi was on his way back home when he was ambushed and arrested by police; the suspect did not resist arrest.
At the investigative agency, Xeo Van Nhi confessed to all his criminal acts.Xeo Van Nhi confessed to using synthetic drugs for over a year. The Ky Son District Police determined that Xeo Van Nhi showed signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the crime. The investigating agency is currently finalizing the case file to prosecute the suspect.
