Emergency arrest of 4 subjects for extorting property from street vendors
The subjects confessed that because they had no money to spend, they invited each other to extort property from street vendors by collecting protection money.
The Social Order Crime Investigation Police Team, Phu Quoc District Police, Kien Giang Province, has just urgently arrested a group of subjects who extorted property from street vendors in Duong Dong town.

The four detained subjects include: Pham Trung Khanh, Phan Phuoc Ben, Nguyen Van Anagin and Pham Tan Viet, all temporarily residing in Duong Dong town.
At the police investigation agency, the subjects confessed that because they had no money to spend, Nguyen Van Anagin invited Khanh, Ben, and Viet to extort property from street vendors along the streets in town by collecting protection money.
At around 10am on January 26, Ben drove a motorbike carrying Viet, while Khanh drove Thanh to the old airport area in Ward 5, Duong Dong town, where they saw many street vendors. They all went to Tran Van Lai's fruit cart to demand protection money. Lai did not agree, and the group threatened him with words. Lai was afraid, so he gave Viet 300,000 VND. After taking the money, the group continued to go to other street vendors to extort money with similar acts.
After receiving the report from the people, Phu Quoc District Police conducted an investigation and collected evidence. On February 2, Thanh, Khanh, Viet and Ben were discovered and arrested. Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the case./.
