A lawyer arrested for fraud and embezzlement.
On December 11th, the Police Department executed a decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect, and issue an arrest warrant against Ho Van Sop (born in 1973, profession: Lawyer) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the records, in June 2022, Ho Van Sop committed fraud against the owner of a plot of land located in Hiep Thanh Ward, Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong Province) by changing the content of the power of attorney contract from authorization to perform land use conversion services to full authorization (with full rights to buy, sell, give away, etc.) for the purpose of...misappropriation of property.
After obtaining authorization, Sop divided the land into two plots and arbitrarily transferred them to another person. This buyer then mortgaged the property to a bank to borrow a total of nearly 29 billion VND.
The Binh Duong Provincial Police Investigation Agency is currently expanding its investigation into the case to clarify the roles of accomplices involved.
