On November 7, the Lao Cai City Police Department announced that they had just detained Nguyen Quang Dung (19 years old, residing in Binh Minh Ward, Lao Cai City) to investigate the murder case that occurred on the morning of November 6 in Dong Tuyen Commune, Lao Cai City.

Initial information from the police agency, around mid-September, Dung lent his girlfriend's father, Mr. LHD (47 years old, residing in Dong Tuyen commune), a Wave RS motorbike. After repeatedly asking for it back, Dung asked and learned that his girlfriend's father had pawned the motorbike.

On the morning of November 6, Dung brought a knife to his girlfriend's house to demand her car back. After a brief argument, Dung stabbed Mr. D. in the right thigh, severing his artery and vein, causing him to die on the spot.

After committing the crime, Dung went home and prepared to escape but was arrested by the police.
