Arrest of suspect just released from prison 10 days ago for murdering father, mother and sister
Tran Van Hieu (born 1974) - the suspect in the murder of three people in a family - was recently arrested by authorities while hiding in Lao Cai.
The Criminal Police Department of Bac Giang Provincial Police said that the authorities have arrested Tran Van Hieu (born in 1974, residing in Tan Thanh commune, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province; registered residence in Mai Pha commune, Lang Son city, Lang Son province).
Tran Van Hieu was arrested in Bao Ha commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.
On the afternoon of October 22, people in Tuan My village, Tan Thinh commune, Lang Giang district, discovered that Mr. Tran Dinh L. (72 years old, Hieu's father), Mrs. Bui Thi Th. (72 years old, Hieu's mother) and Tran Thi Th. (45 years old, Hieu's sister) were murdered in their home.

After committing the crime, Hieu took his father’s motorbike and fled. The incident was reported to the authorities by the people.
That same evening, Bac Giang Provincial Police mobilized all forces from professional departments, district police and asked neighboring provinces to coordinate and arrest the suspect.
On the afternoon of October 24, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Giang Provincial Police prosecuted the accused and issued an orderwantedespecially for Hieu for murder.
According to authorities, Hieu was married and had two children. In 2015, the suspect slashed his partner and seriously injured her. Hieu received a six-year prison sentence for intentional infliction of bodily harm.
On October 13, Hieu completed his prison term and returned to his parents' home. Ten days later, he killed his entire family.
