Man arrested for illegally transporting 4 monkeys

On the morning of April 12, Traffic Police Team No. 3, Department PC67 (Nghe An Provincial Police) said: The unit has just discovered and arrested a subject for illegally transporting rare wild animals on the way to consumption.

Specifically, on the morning of April 11, Traffic Police Team No. 3 was on patrol duty controlling traffic in Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) when it received a report from the public about a suspicious subject illegally transporting and trading rare wild animals on Ho Chi Minh road through Thanh Chuong district.

The task force immediately set out to intercept the suspect on the route he would be traveling on. At around 7:55 a.m. the same day, the task force discovered a man driving a motorbike with license plate 38F6 - 7013 acting suspiciously as previously reported.

The task force stopped the vehicle for inspection and discovered two sacks containing four monkeys (dead) weighing about 36 kg in the back of the vehicle. During the on-site confrontation, the man confessed that his name was Vu Van Bay (born in 1957), residing in Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Bay could not present valid documents proving the legal origin of the above goods. Immediately after that, the working group made a record, handed over the vehicle and evidence to Thanh Chuong district police to continue investigating and clarifying the case in accordance with legal procedures./.
