The Criminal Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police has successfully cracked case number 174L, arresting three people for investigation into fraud and appropriation of property in cyberspace.
The three individuals detained on criminal charges are Nguyen Cong Quoc (born in 2005), Le Quang Nguyen (born in 1996), and Nguyen Huu Phong (born in 1995; all residing in Trieu Dai commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province).
According to initial investigations, Nguyen Cong Quoc, Le Quang Nguyen, and Nguyen Huu Phong confessed to creating voting pages on the weebly.com website platform to commit fraud and steal other people's Facebook accounts.

Afterward, they used the hijacked Facebook account to message the victim's friends and relatives, asking them to transfer money to a bank account with a name matching that of the Facebook account owner. As a result, the victims completely trusted them and transferred the money.
Using this method, from 2024 until they were discovered, this group hijacked hundreds of Facebook accounts and defrauded people out of hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.
