Arresting a transnational criminal group for virtual currency fraud, seizing 500 billion and many luxury cars

The police are investigating a group of scammers who appropriated property by luring and enticing people to invest in buying MPX energy coins to mine XFI of the CrossFi project.

Cau Giay District Police (Hanoi) coordinated with Hanoi Police's professional departments to investigate a fraud ring.appropriation of propertyby luring and enticing people to invest in buying MPX energy coins to mine XFI of the CrossFi project.

Police arrested 8 suspects in this ring, seized many luxury cars, houses and other assets from the criminals, with a total value of about 500 billion VND.

The subjects used fraudulent tricks under the guise of inviting investors to invest in business projects and virtual currencies with the promise of high profits. Their tricks caused many investors to fall into the trap. The biggest victim was scammed up to 13 billion VND.

In addition, scammers continuously organize closed seminars, taking advantage of the images of influential people to mobilize capital from the community.

Previously, CrossFi, formerly known as MinePlex, caused a stir in the cryptocurrency investment community when it called itself a “decentralized electronic bank”. With attractive profit promises and a bustling operating model, this project raised millions of dollars over the past 5 to 6 years. However, CrossFi does not have a legal operating license in Vietnam.
