Northumberland Police said they believe "this is not a terrorist attack."

A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said they received information at about 9:15 a.m. the same day (about 3:15 p.m. Vietnam time) about a car that drove onto the sidewalk outside the Westgate Sports Center and crashed into a group of worshippers who were leaving after performing prayers marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

The incident injured six people, including three adults and three children, including an eight-year-old boy in critical condition.

According to witnesses, a car parked nearby suddenly accelerated and crashed into a group of believers walking on the sidewalk.

Previously, on June 19, a white van crashed into a crowd leaving the Finsbury Park mosque in northern London, killing one person and injuring 11 others./.
