A video is circulating on social media of a man brazenly pickpocketing a motorcyclist while stopped at a red light. The girl sitting behind the motorbike discovered the incident and immediately grabbed her backpack, while the thief managed to escape. The incident happened at around 5 p.m. on June 7, at the Vong-Dai La intersection (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi), recorded by the dashcam of Mr. Doan Quy Duong's car.

Video shows a man picking pockets at a red light.

The incident after being posted made many people angry. MemberThoi Nguyenexpressed: "In broad daylight, at a crowded red light, he still dared to do it. I have to admit that he was too reckless." And memberDung TranReminder: "Fortunately the victim discovered it early, otherwise his property would have been lost. Everyone should be careful. Don't think that wearing a backpack on your back is safe. It's best to put it in the trunk of your car for safety. Seeing many careless people on the street is scary. Many people walk on the street holding their phones and talking, while carrying handbags, which is no different from creating an opportunity for robbers to strike."

Another video 'captures' the image of a pickpocket at an intersection with traffic lights.

Pickpocketing of pedestrians at red lights is not uncommon. In addition to the victim's carelessness, the indifference of passersby is also the reason why thieves are rampant. Previously, at the end of 2017, on Phuong Mai Street (Dong Da District, Hanoi), a young man followed a girl and reached into her backpack to steal things. Dozens of passersby witnessed it but no one intervened. When he was gone, some people pointed and reminded him. At this time, the girl discovered it, quickly stopped her car and chased after him but was helpless.
