Helicopter chases, refrigerators full of cash, corrupt officials caught in bed with foreign mistresses... movies about chasing corrupt officials are very popular in China - the world's most populous country.

"In the Name of the People", a new film produced by the propaganda department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China, will be shown on March 28 on Hunan TV - the second most watched TV channel in China.

According to the promotional advertisement, in the film there is a scene where the police raid the house of a corrupt official, where they find mattresses made entirely of stacks of money.

Last year, two short documentaries inspired by the anti-corruption campaign produced by China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) also attracted viewers.

Renowned writer Zhou Meisen, who has written film scripts and books on the subject, was supported by the SPP, allowing him to interview corrupt officials in prison.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged that the fight against corruption in China will last until corruption is eradicated.
