Catching a cobra longer than 1 meter near an apartment building
The security team on duty on May 1st caught a cobra measuring more than 1 meter long and weighing about 1 kg in the apartment building area.
At 11:10 p.m. on May 1, 2018, at the border area between the Central and Southern Buildings of the Tay Nam Linh Dam Social Housing Project (Hoang Liet District, Hoang Mai, Hanoi), the security team here discovered and successfully captured a cobra measuring more than 1 meter long and weighing about 1 kg.
The origin of this snake is unknown, it appeared in the grassy area on the motorbike path leading to B2 South building - part of the Tay Nam Linh Dam social housing project...

The guards quickly used sticks and successfully caught the snake. Mr. Tai, a resident of the building, said that it is very possible that the snake was hiding under the motorbike ramp leading to B2 of the building or that there is a vegetable garden and a large lawn near the building, and the snake could have crawled in from that area.
It is worth mentioning that next to the location where the security team caught the cobra is a playground with seesaws, swings, flexibility exercises, slides... for children in the building area.
The cobra has very poisonous venom. If someone is unlucky enough to be bitten by it, they may die immediately. The security team successfully controlled and captured a cobra in the Rice City Building area in Southwest Linh Dam. Photo by Duc Tai.
Previously, at the HH2B Linh Dam apartment building (Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi), the building security also discovered a snake as big as a motorbike handlebar, about 1.2m long, still alive, falling from a height to the yard. The incident was later investigated to find out where the snake came from, but to this day the origin of the snake has not been found.
