'Sugar Daddy' caught using sex clip to blackmail

Social media users participate in Sugar Daddy - Sugar Baby matching forums posing as rich businessmen looking for someone to confide in, then edit and edit "hot" clips to blackmail the victims.

On April 23, the Criminal Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police announced that it had coordinated with the Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security and professional units to arrest Tran Thanh Tuan (born 1990) for the act of extortion.

According to the investigation, the subject Tuan used social networks to participate in Sugar Daddy - Sugar Baby matching forums pretending to be a rich businessman looking for someone to confide in.

With his flashy appearance, Tuan has made friends with many women, including Ms. LTV (born in 1986). After gaining trust with Ms. V., Tuan invited her to exchange clips with sensitive content and then edited the images tothreatenThe victim demanded 20 million VND or else she would send the video to Ms. V's relatives. Because she was so scared, Ms. V. then transferred money to Tuan and reported it to the police.
