At 7:30 p.m. on October 23, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police caught Ngo Van Khich, also known as Dang Ha, 34 years old, from Tho Xuan district, residing at No. 01, Lane 31/2, Phan Trong Tue Street, Van Dien, Thanh Tri (Hanoi), along with a number of people who are collaborators of some newspapers and electronic information sites who regularly go to agencies, private and state enterprises in Thanh Hoa to investigate violations, write articles posted on some newspapers and electronic information sites while receiving 50 million VND from Mr. Ha Duyen Hung (32 years old), owner of a dental clinic in Tho Xuan district town.
The police seized 3 computers, 2 laptops, 3 cell phones, 1 seal, 2 notebooks, 10 work introduction letters, 1 Vietnam Journalists Association membership card, 1 Thoi Dai Newspaper reporter card, 1 ID card, 2 ATM cards and some related evidence.
Expanding the investigation of the case, on October 29, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Vu Thi Hai H., 28 years old, residing at CT2 Building, Xala Urban Area, Phuc La Ward, Ha Dong Town, Hanoi (Ngo Van Khich's girlfriend) for the crime of "Extortion of property".
