Temporarily detain Tan Hiep Phat Group Chairman Tran Qui Thanh and daughter
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 10, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Agency executed an arrest warrant for Mr. Tran Qui Thanh and his daughter, Tran Uyen Phuong.
The Ministry of Public Security assigned the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (C01) to investigate, verify, and resolve the content of the Petition of a number of citizens in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province.Mr. Tran Qui Thanhalong with his daughters Tran Uyen Phuong, Tran Ngoc Bich and a number of other individuals have committed acts of "Fraudulent appropriation of property", "Abuse of trust to appropriate property", "Tax evasion", "Extortion of property" in projects and real estate of particularly large value in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City since November 2020.

️ The investigation process so far has sufficient grounds to determine: The actions of Tran Qui Thanh and his daughters Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich have sufficient elements to constitute the crime of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 175 of the Penal Code.
On April 8, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued Decisions to prosecute Tran Qui Thanh, Tran Uyen Phuong, and Tran Ngoc Bich. On April 10, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency executed the Order to temporarily detain Tran Qui Thanh and Tran Uyen Phuong and conducted searches of the residences and workplaces at 09 locations of the 03 suspects.
The Decisions and Orders of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency have been approved by the Supreme People's Procuracy in accordance with the law.
