Young man without driver's license arrested for fatal car crash
Without a driver's license, Vo Minh Chien (24 years old) drove a car and caused a fatal accident.
On the afternoon of February 9, the Investigation Police Agency of Ky Anh District Police (Ha Tinh)prosecute, prosecuted the accused and issued an arrest warrant for Vo Minh Chien (born 2000), residing in Ky Thu commune, Ky Anh district, for the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation".
Before that, around 8pm on February 7, after coming home from work, Mr. Chien was invited by a friend to go out. This person called his friend to borrow his car with license plate 38C-124.xx and he agreed.
Although he did not have a driver's license, Mr. Chien still drove his car to Nguyen Thi Bich Chau intersection in Ky Chau commune (Ky Anh district) to take two friends out.
When reaching Km 561+600, National Highway 1A, passing through Ky Thu commune (Ky Anh district), Ho Minh Chien observed a container truck ahead. Wanting to overtake, this person honked and turned on the left turn signal, then drove the car to overtake the container truck on the left at a speed of about 50km/h.
While driving to overtake, Mr. Chien's car collided with motorbike with license plate 38K1 - 575.50 driven by Ms. BNHT (born 2005, residing in Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district) in the opposite direction.
The accident caused Ms. T. to fall onto the road and was taken to the emergency room by locals. However, due to severe injuries, Ms. T. died.
During the investigation, the police determined that Mr. Chien did not have a driver's license.
The case is under investigation and clarification.
