Caught transporting 20 tons of illegal tin ore worth about 4.6 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Province Police Department's Environmental Police Department arrested a tractor trailer truck while it was transporting 20 tons of steel ore from Quy Hop district to Lao Cai, with a total value of about 4.6 billion VND.

Early morning of April 10, on National Highway 48, in Thai Hoa Town, detectives of Team 2, Environmental Police Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with Traffic Police Team 1/48, inspected a tractor trailer with license plate 15R: 210.17 driven by Nguyen Van Thuong (born in 1987), residing in Dai Thang Commune, Tien Lang District, Hai Phong City.
The tractor-trailer truck was carrying dozens of tons of tin ore contained in sacks of snake carcasses but without legal documents.
At the police station, driver Thuong stated that the amount of tin ore weighed more than 20 tons and was being transported for hire by a boss from Quy Hop district to Lao Cai.

The Environmental Police Department has seized all the tin ore to serve the investigation and handling, the value of the seized tin ore is about 4.6 billion VND.
This is the result of a special project to arrest subjects illegally buying, storing, and transporting minerals, which was established in early April 2017. The case is being investigated and expanded.
