Arrested case of transporting 7 red-faced monkeys and animal bones
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 4, the Environmental Police Department (PC49) of Nghe An Province Police announced that it had just arrested a case of transporting wild animals. The seized evidence was 7 red-faced monkeys and 14kg of animal bones.

The investigation agency said that the case was led by Team 2, Environmental Police Department (PC49) in coordination with Thanh Chuong District Police. After a period of monitoring, at 12 noon on December 3, on the inter-commune road in Thanh Linh Commune (Thanh Chuong District), the working group caught two men red-handed transporting wild animals on a motorbike.
Evidence seized on the spot included 7 red-faced monkeys with a total weight of 58kg (of which 6 were dead), 14kg of animal bones and a motorbike with a license plate from Nghe An province.
The identities of the two arrested people are Nguyen Van Son (born in 1977, residing in Dinh Son commune, Anh Son district) and Pham Ngoc Thuy (born in 1974, residing in Cam Son commune, Anh Son district).
Working with the police, these two people confessed to buying red-faced monkeys from people in the mountainous area of Nghe An to bring back to their locality to sell for profit.
According to the investigation agency, the 14kg of animal bones will be sent for examination to determine exactly what kind of bones they are. The case is currently under further investigation./.
