Arrested case of illegal transportation of more than 420 rare wild animals

On April 17, 2024, Vinh City Police completed the handover of 21 containers containing 420 individuals.rare wildlifeto the Pu Mat National Park Rangers for care and release back into the wild according to regulations. This is the evidence discovered and seized by the Traffic Police - Order Team, Vinh City Police during a patrol and vehicle control in the area on the evening of April 15, 2024.
Previously, at around 7:30 p.m. on April 15, 2024, while performing patrol duties and organizing vehicle control on Dung Quyet Street, Vinh City, the Traffic Police - Order Patrol Team, Vinh City Police discovered a car with license plate 20L - 1880 driven by driver Chao A Lai (born in 1992), residing in Khanh Xuan Commune, Bao Lac District, Cao Bang Province, moving from South to North, showing suspicious signs, so they signaled to stop and check the vehicle.
Upon inspection, the authorities discovered 21 cargo boxes containing 420 live rare wild animals such as parrots, porcupines, sloths, kangaroos, civets, turtles, monkeys, pythons, snakes, etc.
Working with the authorities, Chao A Lai could not present documents proving the origin of these wild animals and admitted that Lai transported all of the wild animals for a stranger from Ha Tinh province to Ha Nam province to receive 15 million VND in wages.
Currently, the case is continuing to be investigated and handled in accordance with legal regulations.
