Previously, at about 7:30 p.m. on April 15, 2024, while performing patrol and vehicle control duties on Dung Quyet Street, Vinh City, the Traffic Police and Order Patrol Team, Vinh City Police discovered a car with license plate 20L - 1880 driven by driver Chao A Lai (born in 1992), residing in Khanh Xuan Commune, Bao Lac District, Cao Bang Province, moving from South to North, showing suspicious signs, so they signaled to stop and check the vehicle.
Upon inspection, the authorities discovered 21 cargo containers containing 420 live rare wild animals such as parrots, porcupines, sloths, kangaroos, civets, turtles, monkeys, pythons, snakes, etc.
Working with the authorities, Chao A Lai could not present documents proving the origin of these wild animals and admitted that Lai transported all of the wild animals for a stranger from Ha Tinh province to Ha Nam province to receive 15 million VND in wages.
Currently, the case is continuing to be investigated and handled in accordance with legal regulations.
