Lao passenger bus caught transporting 840 kg of illegal fireworks

At around 2:00 p.m. on January 8, at km 16 of National Highway 7A, passing through Khanh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, the Traffic Police of Yen Thanh district discovered and detained a Lao passenger bus running from Luang Prabang (Laos) to Vinh.

The driver is Vo Duc Thang (born in 1994), hired to drive for Mr. Nguyen Canh Tuan in Dien Lien commune, Dien Chau district, the car was carrying many prohibited goods.

The district police traffic police team coordinated with the district police professional teams to bring the car to the traffic police headquarters and conduct a complete search of the vehicle.

Here, the driver Vo Duc Thang was found with 3 pink pills, 840 kg of foreign-made fireworks and nearly 2 blocks of clove wood hidden under the bed of the car. In addition, the authorities also found 2 animal skeletons, 2 dead leopards and 4 fresh bear legs in the car.

At the police station, Nguyen Canh Tuan admitted that he bought the above goods in Laos and brought them back to sell for profit.

The case is currently being investigated and expanded by Yen Thanh District Police.
