Bau Tu still holds the position of General Director, VPF is not afraid of HAGL leaving V-League
Although he confirmed that he would leave the position of VPF General Director this April, in the end, Mr. Tu still stayed, after having the high trust of the members of the VPF Board of Directors. Mr. Tu's refusal to withdraw may cause more controversy with Mr. Duc in the near future.
Don't understand why I was "beaten"
Mr. Tu said that after 4 months of working at VPF, he was exhausted and his hair turned so gray that even his friends could not recognize him. However, Mr. Thai Son Nam was also proud of what he had accomplished, especially with the VPF Board of Directors finding 3 sponsors for V-League, First Division, and National Cup.
"Some people ask me why I don't use my own money to sponsor. The Thai Son Nam brand is not big enough to sponsor a big tournament like the V-League. That is to lower the value of professional football tournaments in Vietnam. I believe that the new term will have bigger sponsorships, and up to now we have enough sponsors for the three tournaments: V-League, First Division and National Cup," Mr. Tu shared about the sponsorship issue - the most successful work since taking the position of VPF President.

Mr. Tu said he worked hard for the common goal of Vietnamese football, but for some reason he was continuously "beaten".
"It's really unreasonable not to feel pressure because this is my first time on the field. V-League is a tournament that I just entered, but I was "hit" fiercely. I don't understand why I was "hit" like that. Maybe it's because I went too fast, a bit hasty or something. However, I will not give up," Mr. Tu affirmed.
Cannot resign as CEO
The head of VPF emphasized that he always wanted to find someone to replace him as General Director because this job is very difficult, but currently no one has been found. Bau Tu also said that the position of General Director is much more tiring and time-consuming than the other positions he is holding.
"If we talk about the nature of the job, perhaps the position of VPF General Director consumes all my efforts and time. The other positions are just a support and a symbol. Or the position of President of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, I have been doing it for 6 years, the results are very clear. I cannot resign naturally when the responsibility is so great.

The position of General Director put me under the most pressure. But I affirm that it was only for a short time, if I had not accepted it before, I do not know how to find sponsorship for VPF.
I have always been looking for a replacement, and have asked the Board of Directors to withdraw so that I can have time to focus on the position of VPF Chairman. From there, there will be investment in 3 professional football tournaments. But when people trust and assign such responsibilities, I have to do my best," Mr. Tu shared.
Mr. Tran Manh Hung - Vice President of VFP, also has a point of view on this issue: "A person holding many positions must have an optimistic assessment. VPF Company does not belong to Mr. Tu, but to the collective. We do not need to know how many positions Mr. Tu holds, we only want to know what Mr. Tu can do for VPF.
The war between Mr. Duc and Mr. Tu may not end yet. |
After 4 months, Mr. Tu did very well. We changed a lot about the way we work and the management methods to increase revenue and reduce expenses. The views of some bosses are personal views. But we are an organization, we cannot be influenced by those individuals.
This morning at the VPF meeting, Mr. Tu asked to resign from the position of General Director. But we see that there is no reason for Mr. Tu to withdraw. Mr. Tu did not violate the regulations, so why did he withdraw? He is doing well, our collective sees him as good, so we must respect him."
The fact that Mr. Tu continues to sit on the VPF chair, and is about to run for the VFF Vice President position, may make Mr. Duc "hot-faced" again. Previously, the Mountain City boss threatened to quit football and let HAGL stop playing in the V-League if Mr. Tu continues to hold many chairs.
Prepare a plan if HAGL leaves V-League
Deputy Head of V-League Executive Board Nguyen Minh Ngoc said: "From a professional perspective, we always have many options to deal with the case of HAGL withdrawing from the tournament. For example, in 2014, Ninh Binh withdrew from the tournament, we rescheduled the match." Meanwhile, Mr. Tu said that if HAGL withdrew from V-League, it would not be his fault.
