Bayern win Audi Cup, Mourinho defeats his former team.

Bayern Munich staged a successful comeback to defeat Manchester City 2-1 and win the Audi Cup. This also marks Pep Guardiola's first title since taking over as manager of the German club.

Determined to redeem themselves after the defeat to Dortmund in the German Super Cup, Guardiola fielded a strong team featuring many star players such as Schweinsteiger, Robben, Ribery, and Muller. Meanwhile, Pellegrini almost completely reshuffled Man City's starting lineup, retaining only two new signings, Jovetic and Fernandinho, compared to the 5-3 victory against AC Milan.

With the home advantage and a strong lineup, Bayern Munich easily dominated the first half. However, thanks to Manchester City's solid defense, the home team's strikers were unable to find the back of the net against Pantilimon. The first half ended 0-0.

Having been largely outplayed in the first half, Manchester City unexpectedly rallied in the second half.

In the 60th minute, Negredo punished the home side, using his speed to get past two Bayern defenders and finish accurately, opening the scoring for Man City.

However, the European champions only needed four minutes to equalize 1-1. Following a handball by Zabaleta in the penalty area, Bayern were awarded a penalty, which Mueller converted to beat goalkeeper Pantilimon. In the 72nd minute, the Bavarian giants completed their comeback with a close-range header from Mandzukic, securing a 2-1 victory.

In the third-place playoff match, AC Milan defeated Santos 1-0 thanks to the sole goal scored by Kinsley Boateng.

Meanwhile, in their opening match of the International Champions Cup friendly tournament held in the US, Chelsea demonstrated their strength with a 2-0 victory over Inter Milan.

Both goals for "The Blues" were scored in the first half by Oscar (13') and Eden Hazard (29').

Earlier, Everton caused a major upset by beating reigning Serie A champions Juventus 5-4 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw in regular time).
